Chuvé Privacy Policy
Effective date: [Month DD, 2026]
Chuvé ("Chuvé," "we," "us") is a makeup direction app operated by [Legal name], a sole proprietor based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Chuvé app and the pre-registration website at chuve.app.
1. The short version
- Your photos never reach us. They are stored on your iPhone and, if you turn on iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage. We can't see them.
- Your studio results stay with you too. Your undertone, depth, contrast, outline, eye type, pouch list, and progress are stored on your device and in your private iCloud.
- There's no account. You don't sign up or log in.
- We don't collect face geometry or any other biometric identifier. Nothing about your face is sent to our servers.
- We don't sell or share your information for advertising, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. Chuvé contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
- What we do receive is limited: your email address if you pre-register or ask us to look up your Founding Pass; basic, pseudonymous usage events; and purchase status from Apple.
2. Information that stays on your device
| Information | Where it is kept | Can we access it? |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you take in Chuvé (Day 1, 4, and 7) | Your iPhone; your private iCloud if enabled | No |
| Mirror view during lessons | Not saved anywhere | No |
| Your studio results and choices (for example, "Warm" or "Low contrast") | Your iPhone; your private iCloud if enabled | No |
| Your pouch list (products you enter) | Your iPhone; your private iCloud if enabled | No |
| Lesson progress, feedback, and reminder time | Your iPhone; your private iCloud if enabled | No |
| Age check result (passed or not) | Your iPhone's secure storage | No |
We do not store your date of birth. Chuvé uses it once, on your device, to check that you're 18 or older, and keeps only the result.
iCloud storage is provided by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy. Chuvé stores this data in your private iCloud space, which we cannot read.
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. We don't run a push notification server.
3. Information we receive
3.1 Pre-registration and Founding Pass
- What: your email address, the date you signed up, your founding member number, and whether you have claimed your Founding Pass.
- Why: to tell you when Chuvé opens, to confirm your founding member benefits, and to send the one-time link that connects those benefits to your app.
- In the app: if you tap "Find your Founding Pass" and enter your email, we use it only to send that confirmation link.
3.2 Gift links (referrals)
- What: a random ID for the person who shared the link, and a record that someone who opened it reached Day 7.
- Why: to count completed referrals and deliver referral rewards.
- We don't receive the name or contact details of the person you invite.
3.3 Usage events
- What: a random ID created by the app (not your name, email, or Apple ID), event names (for example, "Day 2 completed"), the day number, time spent, the app version, and your iPhone model and iOS version.
- Why: to understand where the program is too hard or too long, and to fix it.
- These events contain no photos and none of your studio results or choices, and they are not linked to your email address. Tapping Reset studio data creates a new random ID.
3.4 Purchases
- Apple processes all payments. We never receive your card or payment details.
- We receive, through Apple and our purchase-management provider RevenueCat, the products you bought, purchase dates, and an anonymous app user ID. We use this to unlock what you bought and to restore it on your other devices.
3.5 Technical logs
- Our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address and request time when the app or website contacts our servers. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are deleted within 30 days.
4. What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't share personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we don't use device fingerprinting.
- We don't use your photos or results to train AI models.
- We don't send marketing to you through the app.
5. Service providers
We use the following providers to run Chuvé. They process information only on our instructions.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and hosting for pre-registration, Founding Pass, gift-link counts, and usage events |
| RevenueCat | Purchase status and restoring purchases |
| Apple | App Store payments, iCloud storage |
| Resend | Sending pre-registration and Founding Pass emails |
| Cloudflare Pages | Hosting the pre-registration website |
6. Product links (affiliate disclosure)
On Day 7, Chuvé may show products from Olive Young US through the Rakuten Advertising affiliate network. If you buy through these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you tap a product link, you leave Chuvé, and the retailer's and Rakuten's own privacy policies apply. We don't send them your photos, results, or email address.
7. Emails
We email you only about Chuvé's launch, your Founding Pass, and related program updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Our mailing address is: [Physical postal address].
8. How long we keep information
| Information | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Pre-registration email and founding member record | You ask us to delete it, or 24 months after your last contact with us, whichever is first |
| Gift-link counts | The referral program ends, plus 12 months |
| Usage events | 24 months, then deleted or combined into totals that can't identify anyone |
| Purchase records | As long as needed to provide what you bought and as required by tax law |
| Technical logs | 30 days |
| Data on your device and in your iCloud | You delete it (see section 9) |
9. Your choices
- Delete studio data on your phone: In Chuvé, go to Settings → Reset studio data. This deletes photos and studio data saved in Chuvé on this device. To remove data stored in iCloud, also go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud and remove Chuvé's data there. Deleting the app also removes data stored on the device.
- Delete your email and founding member record: email us at contact@chuve.app from the address you used. We'll confirm within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe: use the link in any email.
- Reminders and camera: you can turn these off anytime in iPhone Settings.
Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information. To make a request, email contact@chuve.app. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
10. Age requirement
Chuvé is only for people 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us their information, contact contact@chuve.app and we'll delete it.
11. Security
We use encryption in transit, restricted access to our servers, and keep server-side data to a minimum. No system is completely secure, but most of your Chuvé data never leaves your device, which limits what could be exposed.
12. Where information is processed
Chuvé is operated from the Republic of Korea. Information we receive is stored on servers located in [region, e.g., the United States]. We handle it as described in this policy wherever it's processed.
13. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date. If a change affects how your photos or results are handled, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
